Century Martial Art Supply began producing martial art products in 1977. Today Century is recognized as the largest supplier of martial arts products in the world.

Our passion for the arts and the frequent disappointment in products available led to the birth of Century. In the beginning the company imported martial art uniforms from Korea. Over time many martial artists were wearing the imported uniforms. In almost every case the pants were too short for Americans. Korean uniforms were made to Asian specifications, not for taller Americans.

The company decided the only way to offer the uniforms we wanted to sell, was to make them ourselves. Century bought a few sewing machines and hired four women to make the uniforms to the longer American specifications.

The company was moved from a garage to a nearby shopping center. A storefront was added and martial artists came in and purchased uniforms over the counter. On weekends the company would sell uniforms to the competitors at surrounding area tournaments.

What set our uniforms apart from the others, were longer pants inseams, elastic waistbands, and rear pockets. We added new styles to the uniforms by sewing on stripes and panels down the legs.

The demand for these new uniforms grew rapidly and in 1980 the company moved into two facilities. Selling and shipping were done in our Del City, Oklahoma location. The sewing operation was done in our Nicoma Park, Oklahoma plant.

As Century continued to grow and added new products, it became necessary to move again. In 1982 Century was moved to 1705 National Boulevard in Midwest City, Oklahoma. Century continues to reside at this location today. Our facility has expanded since that time from 50,000 sq. ft., to over 400,000 sq. ft. In August of 2000, Century will expand once again by adding a 150,000 sq. ft. warehouse to the existing facility.

During the past 23 years Century has expanded its products to include uniforms for all martial art styles, belts, sparring gear, training bags, boxing gloves, training weapons, active apparel, accessories, pads, braces, books, videos, children's products, Tae-Bo licensed products, yoga products, weight benches, home gyms, and weight training gloves.

As we enter the next Century we must look back and thank the many customers, suppliers, and employees who made Century what it is today.
